Who I am 

I, Keiran Williams, Access Driving (“I”, “my”), am an Approved Driving Instructor, approved by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (“DVSA”). 

This Privacy Notice explains how I process any personal data I collect about you. I act as a ‘controller’ as defined in the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”). I am committed to protecting your privacy, and act in accordance with the GDPR. 

The personal data I collect 

I will collect the personal data you provide to me when you sign up for driving lessons with me, or when you communicate with me by telephone, email or otherwise. The information you give to me may include your name, address, email address, driving licence details and telephone number, health information, emergency contact details  and financial information, including your bank details. 

How I use your personal data 

I will use your personal data for the purposes of providing you with driving lessons, and putting you forward for assessment with the DVSA. I will use your personal data to correspond with you about your lessons and your progress. 

I will only use your personal data to the extent that the law allows me to do so. It is necessary for me to process your personal data in order that I can provide you with driving lessons, and put you forward for assessment. I may also process your personal data where I consider it is necessary for the purposes of my legitimate business interests, and your interests or fundamental rights and freedoms do not override those interests. 

Data retention 

I will only retain your personal data for as long as is necessary for the purposes for which I am processing it. 

I will retain your personal data for a period of 6 months after you have passed your driving test or stopped taking lessons with me, unless I have a good legal reason for retaining the data for a longer period. 

Sharing your personal data 

I will share your personal data (your name and contact details and licence details) with the DVSA, when putting you forward for your driving test. 

I do not share your personal data with any other third parties, except as may be required to comply with any legal obligation, insurance obligation or in order to enforce our agreement. 

Your rights 

Under GDPR, in certain circumstances you have the right to request access to your personal data, have that personal data erased or corrected, object to or restrict the processing of your personal data, or to have your personal data transferred to a third party. 

If you have any concerns about the way I am processing your personal data, please do let me know. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
