My name is Keiran Williams, and I am an A Grade DVSA-approved driving instructor. I have been working as a driving instructor since 2016, first with a large regional motoring school, and more recently with my own company, Access Driving. I love teaching people to drive and have discovered a real passion for working with those who need additional support in learning, passing their driving test, and driving safely for life.
Training & Qualifications
Before becoming a driving instructor, I worked in community and sports development, and a substantial part of my work related to improving access to West Suffolk’s leisure facilities for those with disabilities, as well as providing specialist activities linked to NHS and County Council services. I was the delivery lead on a mental health improvement programme funded by Sport England, as well as a community-based physical activity programme for those with cerebral palsy, linked with NHS physiotherapy services. I also represented the Leisure Trust on Forest Heath Disability Forum. Working with the participants on these programmes, and with the delivery professionals, has given me an insight into some of the barriers experienced by people with a wide range of disabilities from physical through to additional learning and mental health needs.
My teaching background stretches back to my mid-teens, as a Young Leader at my local Cub Scouts Pack, and as a Hockey Coach. From my early introduction to teaching, I went on to become a warranted Scout Leader and England Hockey Qualified Hockey Coach. Since then I have coached various county-level hockey teams, junior club hockey teams to national success, and adult hockey teams at a high regional level. I have taught hockey and multi sports sessions in schools across Cambridgeshire and Suffolk, as part of this work I provided adaptive sports lessons in Cambridgeshire special educational needs schools. This background in sports coaching and community development has honed my ability to get the best out of people, and to encourage them to access their full potential.
I hope that we will have the opportunity to work together, to get you driving confidently for life. I look forward to hearing from you.
