Pass Plus is a DVSA-developed practical training course that takes a minimum of 6 hours. It is a post-test course, aimed at new drivers to improve their skills and to help them drive more safely and confidently.
As a Pass Plus registered and approved driving instructor (ADI) I can take you through the six Pass Plus modules, covering driving:
· in town;
· in all weathers;
· on rural roads;
· at night;
· on dual carriageways;
· on motorways.
I will tailor this course to your needs and what you are looking to achieve in your driving. As part of this, I will need to take you on a range of roads outside of the area in which you learned to drive. This provides you with an opportunity to experience different road conditions, traffic conditions, road layouts and styles; all under the safe tutelage of an experienced instructor.
I aim to deliver as much of the programme as possible in the form of practical driving sessions, although local conditions may mean some parts of the modules will be theory-based. You will normally spend at least 5.5 hours driving.
Pass Plus doesn’t involve a test, but you’ll be assessed throughout the course. To pass, you’ll have to reach the required standard in all modules. Once you’ve completed Pass Plus, you may be able to get a car insurance discount, for which you’ll need your Pass Plus certificate. The amount of discount depends on the insurance company, and not all insurers offer Pass Plus discounts, but the overall benefits of Pass Plus training extend far beyond the purely financial.
