These are the measures I have put in place to keep you, your family (household), other pupils and myself and my family safe during this outbreak.
I am following industry guidelines and the ADI National Joint Council Risk Assessment for delivering driving lessons while COVID-19 is prevalent. There are six areas covered by these guidelines.
Before restarting/starting lessons I will have contacted each student, confirmed whether any members of their family (household) are in a high risk group, and ask them to read and confirm they have understood what is written in this document.
The Instructor
I have limited the number of lessons I am doing each day and I am leaving a minimum of an hour between lessons allowing me extra time to clean and sanitise the car and teaching aids.
I will not conduct the lesson if
The lesson will be rescheduled if I am unwell or have symptoms of COVID-19; this includes if these occur during the lesson.
I will be using recommended Personal Protective Equipment. I will wash and sanitise my hands before and after each lesson.
Before the lesson
The night before the lesson I will text you to check:
You must reply to this text and confirm if you or anyone in your household is unwell or has symptoms of COVID-19.
To reduce the risk of contamination I ask you to pay online the day before your driving lesson.
The lesson will be rescheduled at no additional cost if you are unwell or have symptoms of COVID-19; this includes if these occur during the lesson.
The Car
I will sanitise the interior of the car to ensure all areas and contact points in the car are contamination free before and after every lesson.
I will clean and sanitise the exterior contact points of the car before and after every lesson.
Before Entering the Car
Personal Protective Equipment will be discussed with you before starting lessons.
Please wash your hands before your lesson.
I will provide you with hand sanitiser to use before entering the car.
I will meet you outside the car to confirm you are well enough to take the lesson.
The Lesson
Visual aids/pens will not be shared during the lesson, and I will not be shaking hands before or after the lesson.
Car windows will be open whenever possible for ventilation and use of air-con will be avoided where possible.
Parents, guardians and friends cannot sit in driving lessons.
After the Lesson
I will advise you to wash your hands after your lesson, wash your clothes and have a bath or a shower.
I will clean the car at the drop off point if safe to do so and place used cleaning materials into a rubbish bag and dispose of these safely.
In the days after a lesson I will contact you if I or anyone in my household becomes unwell or has symptoms of COVID-19.
